Older houses in the GTA were built with an attic insulation rating of R-32 which is about 8″ of insulaton. With the summers reaching an average temperature over 20 °C and winters averaging below -4 °C, low amounts of attic insulation is one of the biggest contributors to heat loss in a home. Listed below are some of the common signs that you have low insulation in the attic.
Heating costs are one of the main contributors to your monthly gas bill.
In the colder months, low amounts of insulation in the attic causes heat to escape through the ceiling. This loss of heat causes your furnace to constantly run and burn gas making your gas usage literally go through the roof.
This extra gas usage typically accounts for a 10-50% increase in your monthy gas spending.
Proper amounts of insulation keeps the heat in which reduces the amount of gas used to keep your house warm in the winter.
Attics tend to have the perfect conditions for mold growth (hot, humid, and lots of wood for mold to feast on). In a poorly insulated or ventilated attic, condensation begins to build up and pool. When this moisture begins to heat up, mold can start to grow- reducing the quality of air the you breathe.

Newer homes are now insulated to the Ontario Building Code recommendated R-60 which is 17-22″.

The process takes on average 45-90 minutes and is done at top quality with exeptional care.
Once the installation is complete, the final audit will take place. 4-6 weeks after the audit is done, you will receive your rebate in the mail. Our team takes care of the entire rebate process. You just have to make time for the audits and leave the tedious part to us.
