What You Should Know

How much does a new air conditioner cost?

A new air conditioner installation can range from $2,800 – $5,000. This cost includes the air conditioner unit, the installation of the unit by our fully-insured licenced technicians, and one-year labour warranty. The cost of the unit depends on various factors such as:

  • The size of your unit- which depends on how big the property is, how many windows there are, the type on insulation, etc.
  • Existing ductwork- weather there already was an AC installed at the location or not.
  • And any extras such as extended warranties, thermostats, or maintenance plans.

What size air conditioner do I need?

Air conditioners sizes are measured in tons starting from 1.5 and increasing in half ton increments. There are a lot of factors at play when determining the size of your new AC unit such as size and age of your home, amount of windows and the direction they’re facing, pre-existing insulation, etc. We strongly recommend having a professional consultant evaluate your cooling needs allowing them to calculate the most efficient cooling system for your home.

When should I replace my air conditioner?

It is best to replace an air conditioner once it starts to show regular signs of age. When an air conditioner is at the end of its life cycle, it starts to break down more often requiring more frequent repairs. The average lifespan of an air conditioner is 15 years. To figure out the age of your unit, find the metal nameplate which is usually fixed to the backside of the unit. On the nameplate, find the manufacture date in month and year which you can use to determine the age of the unit.

How long does it take to get a new air conditioner installed?

The average time to install a new air conditioner ranges from 2-4 hours. Being stuck without AC in the summer can be tough. 90% of our new installation appointments are set within 48 hours of getting in touch with us so when you need AC fast, give us a call and we can get a new unit installed in as little as 24 hours to 48 hours.
